We are starting a new segment at X’s O’s Football called Quick Takes. The idea behind these breakdowns is to give a quick breakdown of a play that we like to run or saw run without all the extras. The first play we show is the Singleback Tight Flex – Bench.

Coaching Points
The Singleback Tight Flex is an excellent play to attack both man and zone coverage with. If the defense plays Cover 1 man, the quarterback should look to throw to the one of the corner routes. If neither looks open, he should then look to throw to one of the receivers running the speed outs. If Cover 2 Man (2 Man Under) is called, he should look to throw to one of the receivers running the speed outs. Against Cover 2 or Cover 3 zone, the quarterbacks looks to throw to the receivers running the corner routes. If Cover 4 is called, he should look to throw to one of the receivers running the speed outs. The runningback, who is running the delayed curl route is the quarterbacks outlet if no receiver is open.
