The Gun Doubles HB Strong – Y Cross creates a triangle between the runningback, slot, and tight end. These three pass routes create a three-on-two flood isolation against zone coverages, such as Cover 3 and Cover 4.
Play Diagram:

| Z | 12 Yard Post |
| H | 4 Yard Stop Hook |
Coaching Points:
- The split end (X) receiver is the quarterback’s alert route. If he has a favorable match-up pre-snap, then he would look to throw to him.
- There is a high-low read for the quarterback between the slot receiver and tight end.
- The three pass routes between the slot (S), tight end (Y), and runningback (H) create a three-on-two flood isolation against zone coverages, such as Cover 3 and Cover 4.
- The flankers (Z) post route is also an option if the middle of the field (MOFO) is left open.
