The 3-4 Predator is a popular defensive formation that many football video game players run. The 3-4 Predator gives the offense a different look than other 3-4 defenses by putting the right end on line of scrimmage in a 3-4 point stance. For this reason, it is considered one of the stronger 3-4 run defenses. A 4-3 defensive front that gives a similar look as the 3-4 Predator is the 4-3 Under. The key difference between the two formations is the right outside linebacker lines up slightly wider on the line of scrimmage than the right end. His wider stance should allow him to have more opportunities at putting pressure on the quarterback. The right end lines up further inside in a one gap technique between the left guard and left tackle. The nose tackle lines up in a one gap technique between the center and right guard. The left end lines up over the right tackle in a 2 gap technique. Below we take a look at the strengths and weaknesses of the 3-4 Predator Formation found in Madden.
